The emphasis of the Singing Classes is on developing technique and style, and also harmony. As these classes are ensemble, the harmony produced is complicated, but exciting, with the group regularly producing songs of four or more harmonic parts.
The group sings a range of styles, from musical theatre to jazz and pop.
Even though the lesson is taken as a group, there is plenty of opportunity for solo work, within the class. This not only helps improve individual technical ability, but also improves confidence.
The School follows the LAMDA examination syllabus and candidates are entered for Singing exams based on ability. For more information on singing exams please click here.
The senior singing classes play a large role in the School's annual show and always produce work of the highest calibre.
